Tourism Malaysia: Cameron Highlands update

View of Tanah Rata main road in Cameron Highlands

There are always things to do and something to see whenever you go for tourism Malaysia travel to Cameron Highlands. With the cool climate weather of the highlands and the soothing green of tea plantation, montane jungle forest, one can never have quite enough of the place. If you came here once, you definitely want to return again!

I have returned here again and again sometimes as many as several times in a year just to take a break from the city. Sooth tired eyes and just plain relax at the greenery. The tourism trade here is thriving as can be seen with the relentless construction. Some of them are quite an eyesore. I wonder how long before the beautiful place would succumb to over development and there goes Cameron Highlands to the dogs. So better enjoy the place while you can!

In the meantime, you can check up this page for the latest updates and posting and keep abreast of the any happening and little tit-bits of information that might just interest you. Always add stuff to the website, and yes, it is growing and growing and many people said this is the best! Hope to keep it that way!

Nuzul Quran is a Public Holiday for KL

Nuzul Quran is public holiday for Kuala Lumpur on 15/July/2014, yey! Well at least for my wife. All the while she has to work while for me, working in Petaling Jaya always get the day off. So now we can have an outing together. This was announced by the government cabinet in November 2013. Strangely I didn't know about it until recently. Must have missed the news. Of course apart from KL, the

LRT Constructions in KL/PJ is a dangerous road hazard!

LRT constructions in the Kuala Lumpur / Petaling Jaya / Subang area are a real hazard and danger to motorist. Ever since last year when news reports of crane crashing on cars and other debris falling down, I have been wary whenever I'm driving pass any of the LRT construction side, especially when I'm stuck in the traffic just right below the construction itself! On the morning of 26th June, I

Hari Raya Puasa over, still quiet

Hari Raya Puasa celebration was over on the last weekend with many doing the usual yearly "balik kampung" pilgrimage, back to their hometown to visit their family, have a family reunion while the children would have lots of fun playing with their cousins and coming up some minor mischief. And some would have taken the opportunity for work lull to go for a well deserved overseas vacation to

Crime Rate Bad in Malaysia

Ten years ago, I would have said Malaysia was a very safe country. Today, I would say Malaysia is totally unsafe what with all the serious robbery, muggings and recently hit man style assassination. I should give credit to Idris Jala in one of his sterling report saying crime rate has actually came down, and whatever was happening was just a perception issue. Politician and propagandist says the

Finally the government has set the date for the 13th General Election (GE13). It's been a long time coming and the people has waited a long time for the indecisive PM to set the date. Let's vote and be done with it! We need to get on with our daily life here in Malaysia! For visitors you could see the election fever heating up with all the banners strewn everywhere. Bad Day, Parking Summon and Car Accident

When trouble comes, it comes in waves. And today was most unusual to have two in row. The first was my own fault for parking on a yellow line. It hadn't occurred to me that parking in residential area with a yellow line would be a parking offence. Most residential area with a no parking zone yellow line were usually not enforced. Unfortunately in Subang Jaya, I just couldn’t find a proper parking

Cost of Living in Malaysia going up, up, up!

Certainly the cost of living in Malaysia is going up all the time (as do all countries in the world). It is the natural progression in a vibrant economy. However, it needs to be check by the government. They would need to come up with policies to improve the people's income and cap the inflation rate as much as possible. Yet, we all know there are so much leakages and corruption, that many of

Equatorial Hotel Cameron Highlands - Just Love It!

Stayed in Equatorial Hotel Cameron for 3 days two nights, it was superb! Really great service, clean, efficient, scenic, breathtaking view, perfect location (next to many locations). The western style grill, coffee house and Chinese cuisine restaurant were really superb. We were very impressed. Its a tiny 1970s period enclave time capsule - a perfect example of a perfectly run 1970s era hotel. I

Chinese New Year traffic jam!

Chinese New Year is just around the corner! Everybody is anticipating for the well needed holiday break to catch with family, relatives and friends, some of which have not met for an entire year! Malaysia Idiot Sightings - very funny!

This was just way too funny not to share! I know, I know, not to laugh at the intellectually challenge. If one can laugh at own self, one is a much better person, perhaps humble, not arrogant because you know your limits and weaknesses and you can laugh at yourself knowing that,"hey it is no big deal!" Anyway, laughter is a good medicine and if one laughs often, you live a longer healthier life!
